Isn't it like, against company policy?

I went to a wedding on Saturday night and it was really enjoyable. I got all dolled up and he told me that i looked "pretty"...

*^_^*

Afterwards, we went to the casino and i was talking to a "girlfried" of one of his friends. She happens to know my friends (sisters) from primary school (small world)...and she told me about the fact that they were so close, these sisters are like best friends. And so if they got bfs, their bfs had better get along with eachother!

Which is true.

I was sort of baffled though. I knew they dated and met people frequently. What i was baffled with, is where do they meet these guys?

In your mid 20's...you have your friends...and you have met all of their friends...most friends are getting comfy in their relationships and you tend not to meet that many "new" people anymore...short of hanging at a bar and waiting for a guy to chat you up, where else would you meet a quality guy?

The girlfriend said that our mutual friends had met all of the guys they dated or were seeing through their work friends!

*ding*

Now the thought is foreign to me...I work with engineers who are older than i am...not too old, but are in relationships themselves or married, etc. And most of the time, these guys work weird shifts, all depending on what needs to be done on the project. So, you dont have the Friday night work drinks on a regular basis to hang with them and meet their friends.

But you see, in the finance industry...you can...and so it seems, it is encouraged to date even your workmates!

This is based on what i was told by the girlfriend.

She said that her company, especially when they get new graduates, sort of push two chummy people together in hope that it sparks romance...(starting to sound like a game and the more kablueys you get the better)...

They love the gossip in the company...its not frowned upon...seniors in the company go out with juniors and its not looked upon as weird. Its like a meat market at work...is this why the women who work in the industry always look immaculate and hot in their tight business skirts and blouse and high stilettos?

I understand if you become really good friends with your workmates, that you hang out on Friday nights for drinks and meet some of their friends and the friend gets attracted to you and then you go out with their friend and it snowballs from there...

That sounds okay to me, and i guess its an avenue to look into if you are single...

But dating workmates at work...especially someone superior in the hierarchy is just *ugh* to me.

Although, the girlfriend said that there could be up to 180 in your division and if you go out with someone from another division, its like another world. If you argue with your bf and go to work, i guess with that amount of people you can avoid him...but to me, its icky.

A workmate asked me out at my old workplace and I said no simply because of the whole work thing (not to mention some other stuff, but the work thing was enough for me to say no)...it sounds wrong and it felt wrong to me to go out with him, even though he was in a different department.

I guess i could possibly feel different about the idea if there was a cute single guy at work who was flirting with me and i was single and had been single for a very long time and really wanted to be in a relationship (all hypotheticals)...

But i always thought there were company policies against dating your workmates? And when did these policies just fade to nothing, seeing as their not being put into place in some companies?

At work now, there is an implementation manager going out with a project coordinator and since she started after me, I was able to observe the relationship unfold. It seems like it was love at first sight for the both of them when they met. The relationship works well, he is usually out of the office while she works on another project, but they sit close by and our manager, who oversees all of us doesnt seem to mind it one bit. It doesnt affect their work and i havent witnessed them have any ugly fights...so its not like its impossible to have a relationship with someone, even in a small company.

So, i guess this means that there is potential in the whole "dating your workmate" thing...if your company is cool with it.

You do spend a huge chunk of your life with your workmates...its not surprising that the relationship can change to something more than just friendship.

But i prefer the idea of hanging with your workmates socially and perhaps meeting and dating their friends, as the better option!

Party/Party/Party/Party

Xmas Party 1 - Overseas Passenger Terminal.
Its funny when everyone gets dressed up like its 1978...and you pretend that this function hall is like Studio 54 from way back when...and then there is the funny man dressed as a woman with an afro as big as Marge Simpson, who happened to wear funky white boots with a pair of dice in the heels! *LoL* There was a project manager dressed as a pimp, in red velour pimp suit and matching red pimp hat! Highlight was when we did the wig swapping between E, L & i...and then L cried out "salt and pepper squid!" and we all spun around and attacked the waiter who was carrying the platter...and my manager who was tipsy, said to us "man, its like you guys havent eaten in ages!"

It was a stroke to the ego that all these people knew me and wanted to see me at the party, including the people who i have worked with, but have never met.

End of Project Party - Sydney by Sail yacht race/treasure hunt!
Awesome day - my team got to dig up the treasure on the beach! In terms of the race, your suppose to navigate and steer the yacht around the harbour working out the clues and answering questions and the first to the finish line with all the correct answers, gets to go down to the beach at the finish line and go find the treasure map and then use the treasure map to find the treasure.

2 other teams used their motors towards the end of the race and some didnt even go to the sites they were suppose to, to get the answer to the questions. Luckily, i was on a yacht with people who played by the rules and all worked together. We sailed towards the finish line coming 1st, but then the other yachts were passing us, and we could hear their engines roaring as they overtook us and since we were just sailing, we knew they couldnt have caught better wind to surpass us. *grr* But since they shortcutted the whole race/hunt, they didnt get all the answers correct. My team answered everything correctly and since the other two teams had mistakes, we were the ones who got the chance to find the treasure.

After the hunt we went to Kingsleys on Lime Street for lunch. I should get use to the fact that when work says "lunch" they mean the whole afternoon...then dinner...then you dont get home until 2am in the morning and therefore you dont arrive to work the next day til sometime in the arvo...*LoL*...whereby you hang around work for a couple hours and head out for more drinks!

Luckily i left when it was 4:30pm...i wanted to go the gym...and im not drinker...so i got to the trainstation before the people traffic started to trawl through Wynyard Station.

While we were on the yacht, the project manager I had been working with told me that she would be needing a coordinator for her new program and she told her director that she had just the "right candidate" for the job, i.e. moi! Basically, this is a huge compliment...as the PM is highly regarded in the company and whoever she needs as resource is usually the best in their field...and to have worked with her for half a year and for her to want to work with me again, it really says something!

Furthermore...since Alcatel won the Telstra contract there are so many projects on the program and one of the PMs that is working on one of these projects happened to be on my team and as i was sitting across him at lunch. He asked me what i did on the project and since its completed, what are my plans in future?

I told him that i was the coordinator and it was funny his response...

He said "you're 'that' coordinator?" *strokestrokestrokeandstroke*

I was like "yes".

I continued saying that i was suppose to start managing a project for my company, but since PM needs a coordinator for her program, i will be doing that.

And then he said "but i have the perfect job for you..."

Taking things as a joke, i replied "you see, im in such high demand, you gotta get in quick for my time!"

=P

Xmas Party 2 - Bondi Social.
Its suprising that you can sit down with a bunch of people in which you dont really belong in their team, cos you have been working on another project...and then all of a sudden you join their team, only to know that in 2 weeks time you start another project and therefore you're no longer in their team, BUT they know you and you fit right in.

All i can say is, if you get a free lunch out of it, its all good! *LoL*

Whats even more good, is when you find they know you by reputation...your "that coordinator"...its funny, i have a reputation for being a great coordinator and i never knew it...to me, i just did my job!

Once again, it was great to sit down with people who stroked my ego, but also to sit down with a bunch of people i never knew in the 6 months i have been here and learn that although we live in different corners of Sydney, we think the same. We hold the same beliefs. We look at relationships in the same perspective. (I was sitting with predominantly women versus men). It was fun chatting about the food (it was bland) and how we could do better although we cant cook!

Xmas Party 3 - Strike Bowl and Bar.
This hasnt happened yet, but I can tell you that it will be fun. We can bowl, obviously and alcohol is involved. We can dress up in Sumo suits and wrestle in the pit. There is karaoke...there will be a fortune teller...and it seems there will be a lot of food. This is booked for next Wednesday...I dont think anyone in the company plans on turning up on Thursday and definitely not on Friday. They will drink at the bars at the Entertainment Quarter after they leave Strike, and continue to drink until the sun shines for the next morning and then crash into bed there after!

Its funny, engineers had a reputation back at Uni for drinking heaps...i mean HEAPS! We use to joke that each engineer had a keg to sit on cos they drank that much. Funny how even though they are 10 years older...they still drink as much or even more and that reputation seems very fitting!

At least you could say that they know how to party hard after working their butts off all year round!

If I were a man...

I usually go on walks during my lunch breaks...climbing stairs...over the bridge...down to the park...weave thru the park...climb more stairs...do that about 5-6 times...walk to the Opera House and then back to the office. Its about 45-50 minutes and so i need a shower after the walk, and luckily we have a change room with showers in my building! *woohoo* Talk about simple pleasures, or is it a luxury?

On one of my walks, it was an overcast day, yet it was sultry and sticky with a very high humidity...I had ran sections where there were grassy patches (after breaking my ankle, I try to avoid hitting the pavement) and so i was perspiring like there was no tomorrow.

I really needed a towel to wipe my sweat off my face and then i saw inspiration.

I saw a middle aged man about late 40's early 50's jogging past and lifting up his singlet to wipe the sweat off his brow...*light bulb goes off* !ding!

I could lift my tee up and wipe my face! So simple an idea but it was screwed from the start.

I'm female.
I have boobs, which i wouldnt want to show anyone even in its berlei sports bra.
I'm ashamed of lifting up my tee to display the rolls on my tummy.

*enough said*

I told E this one night when we were on the fone.

I said "I sometimes wish i was a guy!"
And before i could tell him anything else or relay my story he said "No you dont!"

And when i think about it...he is right...no i really dont. *LoL*

I will be moving on to another project shortly...and it seems that i will be leading it...what does that mean? I dont really know...sounds like more responsibility though...sounds like i will be managing the project...sounds like i will be managing quite a few people...

Am i ready for this???

I'm not sure...although, the project manager that sits next to me in the cubicle, he thinks i will do fine...fine at being thrown into the deep end! He said its the best way to test someone...you throw them in the deep end, and they will either float or sink...

I should float...well, i hope i do!

The manager of our EMC, he asked what was going to happen next after closing the project that im currently on. I said that i will be moving on to another project but for a different team and it seems that i will be leading it. I also added, "whatever that really means..." He then replied "It could mean you will be a project manager..." I said "I cant really see that..." And with confidence he ended the conversation with "Well I can see you managing a project, you've got it in you!"

At least the people around me think i am capable...and all the managers have said that i am perfectly capable...and they are good at spotting the ones with potential, right? Right???

Lets hope i dont let myself down!

Love, humanity & Melbourne Cup!

When I changed my job and started working in the city again, I had to get Dad to drop me off. I would wake up and get ready...and after having breaky, I would call Dad to wake up, and it would give me a couple of minutes to wash the dishes.

Today, when I went to my parents room to wake him up I saw my parents cuddling in bed. I swear that I have never seen them so loving together (in my whole 24 years)...as they were this morning. I was very touched by this sight.

I must love my brothers!

Although my little brother annoys the crap out of me sometimes, I need only to remember how cute he was when I broke up with my ex and the ex made me cry and cry (I was an idiot back then!) - my lil bro offered to bash and even to get rid of him for me! He was 12 or 13 y/o back then...

It was his 18th Birthday yesterday! Pretty crap to have an 18th birthday right smack bang in the middle of your HSC...So, I bought him an ice cream cake...with cookies n cream ice cream & Oreo's...since that was his all time favourites!

My older brother surprised me with a new stereo in the car! *WooHoo* I didnt even know that he installed it for me until I left for my yoga class and noticed that my stereo was off...I turned it on and the display was different (luckily the on/off button was in the same place!)...upon a closer inspection I found it was a 6 CD stacker...the bass was awesome...the sound was awesome...and I found out from my lil bro that it plays mp3!!!

I didnt get to thank my older brother as I didnt find out until after he left to go home...I can thank him tonite...but I'm feeling pretty emotional right now, that I think I might cry in thanking him!

I rarely read the 9to5 or the CityWeekly, I tend to have a novel at hand which is far more engaging. But with regards to the CityWeekly, on a regular basis, I always accept it from the guy who hands it out. I know he is mentally challenged or mentally disabled (in some way)...all depends on how you want to describe it...and yes I do feel sorry for him, but I'm glad he is out there doing something with his life.

As I walk towards him, I see people walk right past ignoring him - some actually push right past him versus just walking around him...And every time I get to him, I give him a smile and I take a CityWeekly. I say "thank you" and he'll say "have a nice day!" and then I will reply with a "you too!"

Its our little conversation. And we have one every Thursday morning.

My company is going to celebrate the Melbourne Cup with a day at Randwick Racecourse...I get to dress up!!! I get to wear a fascinator!!! (Need to make one first)...I just bought beautiful new shoes to wear with my gorgeous silk dress!!! But most of all...since I finished the project and all we are doing is closing it out...there will be celebrations of all sorts - project completion lunch for the main team, company Xmas parties, project completion day out for the whole team!

I'm liking this "beginning of the end" thing.

Been thinking...

Im 24.5 years old...that was yesterday...and from yesterday's perspective...I have 6 months to go to hit the dubious TWO-FIVE...the quarter life!

I caught a glimpse of a friend's blog and realised that I have a lot of wants that have yet been fulfilled. This friend's blog stirred some emotions and thoughts to wander through my (of late) placid little mind.

I do have a job I enjoy at the moment...my probation period ended about 3 weeks ago...my managers like the work I produce...the fact that i'm on board delivering the deliverables in our project on time makes them happy and makes me happy...so my career is chugging along the way I want it to be (for now).

I went and saw my friend's apartment and then went furniture window-shopping with her...its a tedious task at its worst...but i loved shopping for bedheads and tallboys and vanities and dining tables, &c.

In a past life, i must have enjoyed being an interior decorator or of some profession that required a creative/artistic flair...I must have had a beautiful home...decorated by me...

I long to have my own home to decorate...whether a unit or apartment or an actual house...but I want my own to decorate the way I want it to look...but im bound by "that" heavy burden...I wonder when my turn to fulfil this dream will come to fruition?

I have been reading again...its the best thing to do while i'm on the train, getting to work...and while I bummed at home from that annoying flu infection I had, I finished a book a day...to me that was an accomplishment...and then I began reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte...it has taken me a week to read it...I always wondered what took me so long to read that book in highschool...and now I know that it is the language that hampered my ability to absorb the book at an adequate pace as the other novels I have read in modern English. My brother was right, at least im not trying to make sense of Chaucer.

I noticed the large amount of materials I have lying in my room...paints, pastels, paper, books, pencils, palettes, easel, &c...just lying in my room collecting dust...the energy I had for my artistic flair has been smothered for at least a year now...its begun simmering in my belly recently, but hasn't increased in any shape or form...I wonder what has become of it?

There are other things I would like to talk about...but I guess I would then have to admit to failure, submission, and other crappiness that I would rather not discuss right now...

So, I shall leave with a happy note - Mr Bubble is in town and I can't wait to see him again. Last year's concert was awesome! This year, I went to the indoor concert and he managed to make me *wow* again...BUT tonight...the outdoor event will be a challenge for him, and i'm not sure how he will *wow* again...but we'll see...he probably has many tricks up his sleeve...I brought my binoculars just incase I got a seat far back (bought tix for the unreserved section).

*Make me swoooooon with delight Mr Bubble!*

Uncanny!

I have caught up with a few friends that I have missed along the way...SO MUCH HAVE CHANGED!

* One friend...she was in a long time relationship...and then she broke up with her bf...she is now seeing someone else! I hope its not a rebound thing...from my understanding, she has only been single for a short period of time...

* One friend...he was totally off the radar! I mean i tried calling him and I couldnt get through...found out his new work email through another friend and wrote to him. What i found out only yesterday, was that he had changed jobs and was in the same building as I was!!! He realised this when he read my signature where I have written my office address.

Today, I bumped into him while i was getting breakfast...

* L & E are overseas...its nice that they leave their weird incoherent messages on my mobile...(often hurling abuse @ 2:40am AEST, claiming that I had some how screwed them over)...but the most important thing is that I know that they are okay while abroad...I was worried about them getting stuck in a terror attack...but its looking more like they will be attacking the poor people in the countries they visit along the way.

* I love my current job!

I love the fact that im busy...the fact that my managers are great...the fact that i work in the project environment...the fact that I am appreciated by my managers and colleagues!!!

I also love the fact that I can go for a walk during my lunch break and there are change rooms in my building for me to use...the fact that im right next to the train station...the fact that I can come in early to work and leave early from work...with daylight saving fast approaching, that means more time in the afternoon for me!
^_^

But things may change when I start working on another project...but that wont be until Oct/Nov.

Its been a long time my friends...

Not sure if anyone is still reading...or visiting in hope that i start writing again...

I'm not really writing, i just wanted to share some words of wisdom about relieving yourself of the weight on your shoulders...that burden...

Stress Management:

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "how heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.

If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well - just get up and dance.

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colours but they all have to live in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.

TO BELIEVE IS TO CARE . . . TO CARE IS TO DO.....AND MAY THE WIND AT YOUR BACK NOT BE YOUR OWN.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

(1) It is really stupid of you to drink excessively at a work do!

(2) It is really really stupid of you to dance provocatively with a colleague that is not interested in you...

(3) It is really really really stupid of you to dance provocatively with your boss...

(4) It is utterly, undeniably stupid if you pole dance around the CEO of your company at the Christmas party last nite!

(5) The shock of a lifetime: a proud father, who happens to be the CEO, is walking around...gushing about his daughter who recently got engaged to a fine young man...yaddayaddayadda...and then walking outside the building looking for her (she was MIA) only to find her pashing another woman - an employee of his!!!

At last...my love has come along...

I think that is the line...or its "At last, my love has come home..."

Well, either way...im so happy that my Amazon purchase of the Mraz CD/DVD - Tonite not again, finally arrived at the Reception desk of my building!!!

Its been 12 days in waiting...but well worth it! I mean i only paid $18.00 (AUS) to have it shipped from the US to me, instead of buying it at HMV for $44.00 (i'm told). Less than half the price...ahhh...

*smiles all around*

On another note, He is so cute...i love it when he misses me! Can I please say it out loud? I think he will ask that i only say it out loud to him though...hahahaha...

I'm going to watch L'Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi on Friday nite with him...and im fretting over what to wear...im semi-settled on wearing my black strapless 3/4 dress...but im not too sure...I can hear Riss saying "Just wear it!"...hehehe...

Last nite, there was a big spider in the bathroom...it crawled into the cupboard under the sink...i opened the door to see if it was visible amongst the shampoo and conditioners, etc...and it was still on the door, so when i opened it and saw it - i let out the most girliest "yelp" ever...had it been a sharp scream or a shout...or something other than my yelp...i wouldnt be so embarassed! My lil brother came to my rescue and killed it for me! But he also pissed himself laughing at how girly ive become...

I'm astonished at how scared i am now, of spiders...I use to not mind killing them, but now, when i see one, i get my brother to kill it for me...and i actually feel icky when i see it...

>_<

Its been a while hasnt it? My world has flourished, but my creativity in terms of writing has become stale. hmm...i think we need to talk about this...i dont want my creativity to reach a point of dullness.

Priorities in life...

I got sent this email again from another friend...i left it in my gmail acct for a while...and i just read the email...i felt enlightened by it and i guess, i wanted to share it with u.

The mayonnaise jar & coffee!

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours
in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very
large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf
balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed
that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into
the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students
again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next
picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the
sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was
full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes." The professor
then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the
entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space
between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as
the laughter subsided, " I want you to recognize that this jar
represents your life. "The golf balls are the important things - your
spirituality, family, your children, your health, your friends, and
your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and
only they remained, your life would still be full. "The pebbles are
the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.
"The sand is everything else - the small stuff. "If you put the sand
into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles
or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time
and energy! on the small stuff, you will never have room for the
things that are important to you. "Pay attention to the things that
are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to
get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another
18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
"Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set
your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised
her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor
smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter
how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups
of coffee with a friend."

I believe this is the point in which i shall be taking a hiatus for a while, perhaps sporadically writing entries...but i make no promises...my priorities have changed.

Btw, Gavin DeGraw was quite an interesting and enjoyable concert last nite! I didnt have any micro sleeps and not only can he sing and play the piano and the guitar...he has nice arms and a cute bottom! hahaha!

Sunshine Lollypops...

The one thing i enjoy more than shopping for myself, is shopping for others.

I like being able buy something for someone...that they need or want...and then they smile when they open up the present or when u walk through the door and they know that u got them what they wanted...

I love it when i come home with something for my mother, altho she lectures me about wasting money...i know that in her heart and the smile on her face that she appreciates it!

My lil brother starts hugging me when i bring home something he has asked me to purchase for him...i start shoving him...then we have a fight...not a fist fight or anything violent...its like a playful shoving match...which i use to win, and threaten that i would sit on him...but now he is taller & bigger than i am, that threat doesnt work!
=P

I know he is waiting for Xmas to come...but ill give him his xbox before Xmas...and i know that the day i bring it through the door, i will be greeted with a BIG smile!

I'm getting to a point where im running out of affordable ideas though...*not a good sign*...
=(

I dont know what my older brother wants, or more importantly needs...its soo hard to find him a present! My father is even worse...He has a lot of things, things he doesnt even use...my lil brother tops up his sock count each year! *LoL* I'm the older one and i didnt put dibs on the socks! *bugger*

I wish i could buy them experiences...but they dont like doing or wont appreciate the "experiences" that i can think of offering...something adventurous...or cultural...or fun!

I'm in the process of saving for my parents 30th Anniversary present...which is 2 airfares to Vietnam and for my parents to go on a tour from the North to the South. Reason for Vietnam is because my parents are from there, but they have never been to the North and everyone has been telling them how great the tours are. Their anniversary also falls close to the date of my Grandmother's passing...so my mother can do the tour and end up in the South, in time to commemorate her mothers death.

I know my mum will love it, not sure about dad...

Now, as for my neices...its hard to decide on what to buy for them...so i resolved on the fact that they get toys from everyone else...so im doing the responsible thing and investing money into their bank accounts for them. Each birthday, each holiday...i give them money towards their future...they are at an age where they dont really comprehend or appreciate what their gifts signify...they rarely play with their toys for long either. So, hopefully when they need to pay for their uni fees...they will look back and thank me for paying most of it off for them...maybe even all of it off for them.

I asked L what i should give E as a birthday present? She writes back in an email:

"u can flash him"

hmm...i dont think he will be receiving that as a present anytime in the near future...perhaps if i was drunk...but i dont drink alcohol...so, maybe...never!
=P

E is a hard person to buy presents for...he has everything he wants (except my flashing him)...i think ill get him a blow up doll! ahahhhahaa

Shoes.

I love shoes.

I get it from my mother.

Its a shame that my feet are bigger than hers! She has these beautiful stilettos from the 80's that she only wore a couple of times, because then she had me. And being a mother of two, the stilettos just werent practical enough for day to day wear.

My mother hasnt touched those glorious shoes since then, and since she is a grandmother of two, she wont wear it ever again. She thinks that she is too old now, and more importantly...she doesnt think that its safe to wear such high heels. Which is true, i wouldnt want her to fall and break any bones because of it...

My shoe fetish started quite young.

My mother bought me plenty of shoes...and when i started to shop for myself...all i bought was shoes, bags, and accessories. Oh, i bought clothes too...but mostly shoes and bags.

I was just thinking the other day...when i dressed a tad daggy to work because i was running late. I chose the wrong shoes to wear with my trousers...and i looked in dire need of a makeover!

Shoes automatically give your outfit an *oomph*!

I love my red Nine West heels! I wear it with basic black or with my jeans and it transforms my sometimes ultra conservative look into something tre chic!

I have a thing, where i dont like wearing open toed shoes to work...it looks unprofessional to me...i made it a rule never to wear them to work, unless it was casual friday! That was the only exception.

When i go on my lunch break and i look around at these women dressed in suits & skirts, and then i look at what shoes they have on...it shocks me when they wear wrong shoes! I'm not referring to the women in joggers, cos they walked a long distance to get there and they were walking for exercise - so they were being sensible...im referring to those women who just make bad shoe choices.

They wear really nice clothes, but the shoes fail to compliment the whole look. I'm not saying that they are wearing the wrong brands...im talking about the wrong style.

That day that i looked daggy...i was dressed daggy too...and my shoes were just wrong! I realised that it looked horrible when i got to work - a bit late...i know! Thankfully, i dont have to meet and great clients, i only speak to them over the phone...hehehee...

I really believe that the shoes and accessories you choose to wear can make or break your outfit...i wonder if those women realise that their choices may be giving off the wrong perception.

Goodbye Girls...

I am a fan of SATC.

No denying it...it filled a part of me that was empty while i was single...and in honour of that "gap", i watched it religiously every Monday nite.

Its sad to say goodbye to the girls...but as i heard, the 6 DVD box set is out today...so i guess i know what im putting on my "I-Want-4-Xmas" list!

What did i think of the ending...?

I liked the fact that it was a "happy ending" for all of them...and i dont think it was all "ideal" happy endings either...

Miranda didn't have to take in her mother in law...but she changed her stripes and showed true courage.

Charlotte didnt have to adopt a baby. They could have let her miraculously fall pregnant! But there she was consoling her husband (the most un-ideal man for her) regarding the failed adoption with that couple from "Charlotte".

Samantha didnt have to end up with Smith - although, I think i like her change of heart the most...allowing herself to be in love with him.

Carrie...I dont know about her storyline...im somewhat disappointed...and then im also relieved...

I like to believe that if u are meant to be with someone...no matter the time apart, no matter the distance...if u were truly meant to be, then u will end up together!

So, in a sense...i like the fact that she ended up with Big.

Petrovsky, as i watched the last episode, epitomised what i am in fact scared of ever having to face. This romantic man that ensues everything my heart desires...and then...when i take a leap of faith and fall for him, i find that there is this one thing that i can not in any way accept...and i find myself more lonely with him than when i was single and actually on my own.

I actually cheered when Carrie got the strength to run out on Petrovsky at the museum.

I have my personal "Christine" necklace just like Carrie's...I knew how she felt when she thought she lost it...its not how much u paid for it...the amount is insignificant with things like that...i sometimes agonise more over my fake-one-of-a-kind jewellery...than something that was made out of real gold or precious gems, when i lose it. I know its silly, but the sentimental value of those fake things are sometimes greater than the real things...and so that type of value makes it irreplaceable in my heart.

I have a soft spot for SATC...E has already said that he will join me in a SATC marathon party...so when i get my hands on the DVDs...
;)

Btw...for all those girls who watched the Chanel No. 5 Film Du Film after SATC...did u notice that the hot guy that is opposite Nicole Kidman is actually the really HOT guy in the office from "Love Actually"??? His name Rodrigo Santoro, a Brazilian actor...which i think explains the whole exotic thing! *sigh*

And the violin's in Craig Armstrong's version of Debussy's Clair De Lune (soundtrack for the commercial)...oh my...emphasised the reason why i love that 50's romanticism so so much...my heart moved like the strings on the violin!

Lighten Up!

Ignore my last post. I'm in a mess. So, i'm going to talk about "lighter" things for a moment. I need to talk about something more innocently funny!

I bought this top...i liked the colour and style, and it was a bargain buy. I wore it to a friend's BBQ and when i got home my little brother saw me walk in and he just laughed at me.

O_o

No explanation...he just bursted out laughing.

O_O

"What? What is so funny???"
"You look like a teeny bopper, sis!"
"How?"
"That top...thats what all the 15 y/o are wearing."

...well, i did think the top was "cute"...

My little brother and i were having dinner one nite. He looked at me. I asked him "What?"
"Can i drive your car when i get my P's?"
"No."
"Can you buy me a car then?"

O_O

I'm actually considering buying him a car though...but that means i wont be going overseas anytime soon...

My mum and i can have the best laughs ever! There are these pests all over the lemon tree...each time she walks past it, it will spray a nasty scent...its awful!
*yuk*

So, she is on a mission...to kill each and every one of those pests on the lemon tree!

She grabbed the broom and whacked the branches...and one by one, she squished them...she counted each one as she killed them and apparently she was only able to remove the pests from 2 branches so far...hehehehe...It was just so funny when she re-enacted the whole thing for me!
^_^

This morning as i was leaving for work...she continued her mission...armed with her hat and broom...squishing away...hahaha...

Feeling less than...

I wish i could do more...be a better person...re-adjust my attitude...be more caring towards mankind...pro-actively be responsible for my actions...smile more, frown less, never to cry - except tears of joy!

At this particular moment, i feel dead inside.

I feel cold.

I'm in the office, the heater is on and im still shivering.

I was happy this morning...ready for the day...ready for tonite...ready to see him after work.

So what happened?

I was boldy taking steps towards a place that was unfamiliar...i was actually moving forward...well, i thought i was.

Then something happened this morning when i was at work.

One simple message to my mobile.

I read it, and it left me feeling helpless.

I feel scared, because when i tried to respond...communication fell short!

It may be a technical malfunction.

It may be due to various unexplained circumstances.

Or, it may be because he doesnt want to communicate with me.

There was a point when i think my heart stopped because fear got hold of it and tightened its grasp.

Fear must have cold hands.

This blog of mine...

I just dont get how he doesnt get it!

Well, i do get how he doesnt.

And it frustrates me!

I mentioned that i kept an online journal. He asked if he could read it? I dont want him to view my inner most thoughts about him that reflects poorly on me...the times in which i was on an emotional rollercoaster, going up and down in waves!

I really dont want his opinion of me to change.

I dont want him to read all this and find that he is going out with a psychotic lunatic.

But he will be reading it.

He will be reading this post.

We had a long conversation about it last nite...it continued this morning.

I understand where he is coming from in terms of:

"If it is published for the public to read, as it is on the internet...then why can't i read it?"

You're right in that sense...you could have found the link through a friend of a friend...and i would never have known.

And i also agree, that if u want a peek into my "dramas" this is the perfect way to find out who i am...i have a tendency to write how i feel when i feel them.

I also have a tendency to say the things i publish to my friends anyways...M usually knows before i write it on a post.

I dont have a problem with strangers reading my blog...because i dont care for their opinion...and i most likely, will never meet them in person...

My friends already know how i am, so what i write does not affect what they think of me - they know that im melodramatic.

What i do care about is what you will think of me after you read this.

I care about what you will think after reading about how i felt when we first dated. I care about how you will react to my 101 different insecurities...how you will feel reading about my ex or my crushes...how you will feel reading about anything that is slightly off centre.

Please remember what you promised me about reading into this part of my life.

New Program...

I saw a different personal trainer last nite.

He told me the facts.

Scientific facts.

Cold hard facts.

Basically, what i needed to do to get out of my plateau...and the new program i have is harsh. He even said so.

But since ive been going to the gym for nearly 5 years, i need it to be hard.

He didnt tell me to change my diet in anyway...although, i know myself that i have been eating more junk and after the Good Food Month, those rich desserts have finally caught up with my body. And since i offered to cut out the junk before he could suggest it, i think he knew that i would be fine in the food stakes.

The basics in which i learnt last nite was that i should do my weights/resistance training before my cardio.

Why?

To burn the sugar that the first 20 minutes of my cardio would have been wasted on. And when ur training, you need the sugar (energy) for the weights/resistance workout. After i burn the sugar, my cardio training will be focused on burning the fat! Which is what were trying to do in the first place, but neglect to realise what our body is actually doing in the first 20 minutes of our exercising.

Trust the mirror. If your honest with urself, u will see the improvements with ur own eyes. I said i preferred the waistline policy of my trousers or pants. He said that was a good way too, since women have very little muscles around the waist (ie majority of fat is around there)...if the waistline goes down, the bodyfat has decreased.

Our bodies are made up of different muscle fibres. About 65% of our muscle fibres get worked out based on power training...that is doing less reps and challenging it with more resistance. Approximately 35% of our muscle fibres respond to repetitious stimuli.

I have been focusing on the wrong type of workout for my muscles. Ive based more of my resistance training on repetition than power. So, my body isnt challenged anymore...and so my plateau remains unbudged.

=T

I have three different programs for 3 different days.

Ideally, he wants me at the gym 4 times a week, 5 times is better.

On the weekend...he'd like me to continue with my "incidental" exercising...like grocery shopping and carrying the bags as i already do.

I feel tired reading what i need to do, but i promised my trainer that i would try anything if he said that it would give me results.

So, for the next 5 weeks we'll see how far i get with the new program...if i lose the kilos i want to lose...if my arms become less flabby...if my body fat decreases...if i can bring my heart condition back to its peak...etc...

I'll try to keep those who are interested on my progress.

Have fun in San Jose!

My friend sprung it on me while i was at a party celebrating another friend's birthday. He revealed that he was leaving soon...

You see, after arriving at the party, where it was full with asians, i find myself holding my bf's hand hoping that we dont get separated in the dark and then we fail to find eachother until we both leave the party to call eachother outside the venue.

I had trouble finding people that i wanted to see, until E walked around with alcohol in one hand and spotted me! After a hug we went in search of everyone...i was following one friend as i promised to intro my bf to him...but before i could catch up i spot my friend - the birthday boy...

And since i promised him that i would intro my bf for a "thumbs up or thumbs down" to the birthday boy...i thought, courtesy to him, intro bf to him first. So, i lost that other friend, but i gather he was only heading in one direction - the dance floor, or should i say "the stage or the cage"? *LoL*

Birthday boy gave my bf the "thumbs up"...not sure what it was based on since it was very dark in there and all my bf mustered was a hand shake and a "happy birthday, it's nice to meet u"...hehehehe...

But anyways...for those who are wondering what my bf thinks of them...he thinks u guys are a nice bunch of people...otherwise, why would i have u guys as friends?
;)

As i left the party, that friend that i mentioned "sprung" it on me, decided to inform me that he was leaving the country...indefinitely! I asked why?
=(

It seems that work decided to transfer him and he has made the decision to sell everything here and go there and live for...ever?

Since security shoo-ed us away from the stairs saying that we were not allowed to loiter there, i had to quickly say goodbye for that nite, and possible goodbye forever!
>_<~

I miss him already, and he is still in Sydney...i want to see him as much as i can before he leaves...but he wont tell me the day that he is jetting off!

His exact words are:

"yeah selling everything including myself I am not gonna tell you when I will be gone so you have to be nice every single moment from now on

The clock's ticking"

=(

Another problem...im fudgin booked for most days in November! I need to clear my schedule...

Politically correct?

Im not big on politics.

I hear snippets of it here and there...even when our federal elections were on...i thought to myself: "what is the point if the seat in which i make a vote is a Labor seat?"

If my vote doesnt make a dent on swinging the vote which way, then...oh well.
=T

And i think any politician will screw me over side ways...it doesnt matter which party they are with!!!

Its the same with the US elections. I know that in the end there will be an effect on our country some way, it will be filtered through in one way or another...which is independent on who leads the US.

Ive noticed alot of Australians expressing their concerns of Bush being re-elected and Kerry not winning. Expressing their feelings about what other damage Bush will do. Bush is greedy. Bush is this. Bush is that. The war, the war!!!

And then i hear my work colleagues talking about it, and one of the guys i work with was actually hoping that Bush would win. The others were bagging him out...but he isnt someone you want to bag. He is educated and his thoughts on the matter are carefully considered, on a global level.

I thought, seeing that i have read other's opinion on the matter...all anti-Bush...i should ask him and see what he thought since he was pro-Bush (in a way), for him to explain to me why he was supporting Bush.

He told me a million and one things, and to be honest, my memory is crap (short or long term - its bad), so i cant remember everything he said! But what has stuck in my head is that he feels that Bush is decisive. Unlike Kerry, who could easily be manipulated into doing anything everyone says he should do. Kerry would try to please everyone. Bush has the US in its best interest, (and my workmate does not deny that Bush is also looking out for no. 1).

He told me how he felt about Europe and their stance on things, that they are very insular...while the US say that "if u want to join us, u are welcome to join us!" He looks at the US in terms of IT and how it has made us progressed, opening up communication to the world. [I cant remember why he was mentioning this...there was a point, but i obviously dont recall what it was! Oh, he mentions this in terms of the economy, the US dollar versus the Euros, and how the Europeans are anti-Bush!]

My workmate wants to see progression for all, in terms of communication and how the countries all relate to eachother. He sees Bush as working towards fulfilling what he is hoping for. He doesnt feel that Kerry and his policies is looking forward to the future.

Like i said, i dont particularly care about politics...although, i should take a bigger interest in it...Nothing is ever clear cut.

My workmate admittedly said that his opinion changes the more he reads on the subject and the more he spends time overseas to observe the changes...

Right now, he is happy that Bush got re-elected, but he is concerned about the extreme conservatives, in the coming years and how their ideals will impact us.

He said to me: "...there will always be something to worry about..."

The story she told a nation...

On breakfast radio today, they were urging girls who had a Bridget Jones' type moment to call up the radio station and share it with the rest of the nation.

A girl called and told of a story about one nite when she went out with her girlfriends...she got really trashed and then went home. She just got into a recent relationship with a guy and he was in bed. She hopped into bed but then felt sick and instead of going to the nearest bathroom in the house upstairs, she tumbled down the stairs to go to the bathroom there.

She cut the story short and went on describing how the boyfriend got worried so he went to the bathroom and knocked on the door asking if she was okay. He didnt hear a response and proceeded to open the door.

What he found was his girlfriend stark naked in front of him, trying to hold the walls of the bathroom up, shouting at him: "Would you leave me alone, so i can have my dignity!?!?" But apparently she slurred that and it sounded more like "Wooo u lemme aloooohhhh, so i cammmm habbbb my diiiignniifffiiii??"

His response to her was: "I'll hold your hair for you..." while she upchucked.

When she said that line, before she continued with what happened next, i thought to myself..."That guy is a keeper...i hope they are still together!"

Moral of the story is, no matter how embarassing the situation...if ur boyfriend offers to do something that helps restore some dignity to you, marry him straight away!

They are now happily married!
=)
