Gone missing...

Dont u just hate it when something of urs goes missing?

I mean i dont really mind if its an obscure thing...like a top i dont wear often...and then the day i want to wear it, it goes AWOL on me...but its my fault for not paying attention i guess...

But what really bugs me is when something that u often use, and u leave in the same place so that it doesnt go missing, does just that...go missing!

Its like, if you wear glasses and one day you wake up and its gone from the beside table, where u left it before u went to bed...uno what i mean? Then you scramble to find it and u feel handicapped because you need it...but dont have it, and u just dont know where else it can be...other than its usual spot.

My big brother bought me this keyring with my name spelt out in those beads, uno like from those asian cutesy stores. He bought it from HK before it was a craze here. It had a little bell on it too.

A year later it broke.

My bf at the time got me another to replace it. I added the bell from my bro's keyring on to the one my bf got me. Why? That bell sort of gives my mother a piece of mind. She can hear it a mile away...the moment i walk up the drive way to the house door, she knows its me. im home and im safe.

I'm sure i saw it when i got home from the gym last nite...and im sure i saw it this morning when i just got into work. So, between work and getting home - it went missing. When i got to work, i put the keys on my desk...and then i put it into my bag...i've searched my bag...i emptied it and tipped it upside down. nothing.

I noticed it missing right before going to the gym tonite. I checked my gym bag, just in case it came off the nite before...my gym bag was emptied and tipped upside down also. nothing. I went to the gym and as i walked up to the front desk, i searched the floor...when i got home from the gym i searched my car and my driveway...which is sorta hard in the dark. *derr petals*

I got in the house and searched my bag again. still nothing.

I'm upset because its a simple keyring, that i thought was firmly attached to the actual ring, but all i have now is that ring and no name, no bell.
=(

In some ways, the sense of security that it offers is lost too.
