I have only been permanent for about 4 months...but the company is giving a review to every employee...im guaranteed a rise regardless, not much but something because they are changing the number of hours i work, but i won't actually have to do it.
Originally, i work 37.5 hours...if i get held back or don't have lunch, i don't get paid for it. So, i try my best to minimise that occurance. They now want to increase the hours to a standard 38 hours. Which is fine...i guess, it's a nice round number, but i don't really want to come in an extra 6 mins earlier than normal.
I start at 08:30hrs, and i finish at 17:00hrs. I asked my manager in jest, whether we could just round up the 0.5 and make it a whole 38 hrs. He said since it was just an extra 6 mins per day - "Forget about it!"
So, i get paid an extra 30 minutes worth of work, without doing any work!
Now...isn't that great news for a Friday?
